I recently took Elaine, hubby David, Joy and Gordon on an eight day Garden Route. The highlights were the following:
The Cango Ostrich farm where Joy became a tad overwhelmed by the ostriches.
Victoria Bay was a great stop for a walk along the promenade.
Gordon absolutely loved the Frost Brothers display of classic cars and the museum that has been established across the road from Frosts with hundreds of dinky cars and a large supply of old classics.
They really enjoyed the Elephant Hide Guest Lodge, here is pic of Gordon and me standing by my new bus ready to depart for Plettenberg Bay.
On our way from Plet, we went for a walk along the Suspension Bridge at Tsitsikamma Park which they enjoyed thoroughly too.
For me the absolute cherry on the cake was the amazing amount of game we saw at Addo, there had been talk that viewing had not been great due to recent rains which meant that the animals were not congregating around the water holes, but we saw game and birds that I have never seen there before like a Lynx, a Jackal trotting happily around, a Hoopoe, a Secretary bird and a Bustard! The Ellies were plentiful as always!
I drove back empty and was fortunate enough to stay at the Views Boutique Hotel, what a treat!! A stunning room and a view to absolutely die for.
All in all a very successful trip down the Garden Route, such a beautiful part of the world!
